Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I puked blood over a year ago. I had alcoholic hepatitis with cirrhosis. I was stabilized and had a t.i.p.s. placement. A follow up showed ast:51alt:24. My bilirubin was at 3.2. A year later, my direct bilirubin was still elevated at .65 ,but lower than previous. My alt has went up to 43. I haven't had a drink since my incident and my diet and exercise have been normal. What could be causing the alt to be higher?
