I Take Xeralto. Was To Have Teeth Work Done Last

I take xeralto. Was to have teeth work done last week, so told to go off it Sun. Wed 1:30am woke with cramps, diarreah and terrible sweats...went to ER..they did a CT and then transported me 1 1/2 hrs away by ambulance. Released me on Fri and said to have a colonoscopy 4-6 mo. He called it ischemic colitis tho thought I may have had a clot in the gut from being off the xeralto (I have had 5 clots ...1st in 1986 with a PE, last was Oct last year behind my left knee. Of course I'm very concerned....does the colonoscopy 4-6 mo sound right?
