Medical termination of pregnancy (MTP) by pills (methotrexate,mesoprostol and mifiprestone) is effective if pregnancy is less than seven weeks. Anytime past seven weeks requires surgical abortion by dilatation and curettage (D+C).
Depending on the area, the cost varies and in India it may be more than 5000 rupees.
