I was prescribed Macrodantin 7 days ago to treat a uti infection, one that I could not tell I had. Within a day or two I started to get a dry hacky cough with spasms that I just couldn't stop. I assumed that I must be getting sick. However, I never developed a sore throat, any nose issues--just a mild wheeze. Then 3 days ago I developed one of the worst throbbing headaches I've ever had accompanied by shaking chills and a fever of 101. Again, thought I must have a real bad infection brewing. The other huge symptom is no appetite and I feel as badly as I did when I had viral pneumonia. Then tonight I finally took my last pill and then when I took my bath I am covered with a rash that is not itchy. I am wondering if any of this could be related to the Macrodantin and does the rash indicate I may be allergic to it? I am allergic to Bactrim which is the only other time I ever got a rash like this. Thanks for any insights.
