I Was Prescribed Omeprazole Over Two Years Ago For A

I was prescribed omeprazole over two years ago for a cough that would not go away. I had never had any other symptoms of heartburn or GERD. I seemed to improve for the first six months, but now the omeprazole does not help at all and I am now having some acid reflux (maybe once every two or three weeks). Do you think I should switch to Zantac to see if that would offer more relief? Or should I see my doctor before my July appointment? My cough is very persistent, day and night, and keeps me from having enough sleep.
