Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went to exercise today and before I started I saw how my knees were, normal. Before exercising when my legs were straight the knee and the part right above knee were pretty much flat. I didn't stretch before working out. Then I started to use a leg press and I put 85lbs on it. I did about 30 fast pushes with my legs not feeling any pain and it didn't feel too heavy. Then I started to do lunges with 8lbs on each side and only did 10 because I could not keep my knees in the proper 90 degree angle. I also stopped the lunges because I felt a burning sensation too strong in the part right above my knees. About 10 minutes later (after my workout) I noticed that above both my knees it looked like they had inflammation and an indent not there before on the top outer part of each knee. Where the indent was I had pain that didn't allow me to put weight on it when walking. Its been an hour since working out and I still have what looks like swelling and the indents that look like the size of a quarter. What was the cause of the pain in the indents on my knees that just appeared? Why does the part above my knees look like it has inflammation? Should I be worried? Will the indents go away?
