If Pacemaker Functionality Is 86%, Is It A Cause For Concern?
HI, my mom has Medtronic devise because of her multiple-heart failure, now when the technician check her devise, she told me that her peacemaker is working 86% so my mom heart is working Only 14% ?? what is that? Can she live depending only on her pacemaker ???
Hi welcome to HCM. The pace generating or rhythm forming function of the heart is taken over by the pacemaker once implanted to reduce the work load in the heart preventing it from going into heart failure. The statistics you mentioned are absolutely safe.I advise you to have a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to rule out any organic heart disease. She can absolutely go through her routine work with the pacemaker on.Consult your cardiologist for further queries. Thank you.
