I'm Diagnosed With Paranoid Schizophrenia.What Causes Gagging?

Hi,Iam a 33 year old male diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia about 5 years back and have been regularly taking medicines.how ever my problem is i tend to Gag a lot of times in a day. while eating , while swallowing medicines, while drinking water , even while iam talking i tend to gag and often vomit saliva.also i have been smoking cigarettes for almost 14 years or so . I would like to know why this gagging is occuring and what could be the solution, would you prescribe any medicine for this problem. i have been to a couple of doctors but dint find any solution for this.kindly help

I think, in your case, gagging may be part of your psychotic episode. In that case, you can try antipsychotic like chlorpramazine. That would help to control gagging. You can also try some relaxtion technique or thought stoppage exercise that would help you to control these symptoms. Rest, you can consult me your psychiatrist.
