Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my dad woke up w/ racing heart rate in middle of night last night. After couple hours of it he took himself to ER. When we got there his HR was 117 and his BP was 194/63. They did EKG , blood work, and chest x-ray . All came back fine. Got HR down to 100 and BP down to 130/76. They released us. Now he s feeling queasy and very tired. What s our next step and should I keep a close eye on him?
He needs to be investigated for arrhythmia / Coronary Artery Disease.
HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) / ECHOcardiogram / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) / further LABORATORY work-up – may all be necessary for further assessment and assistance.
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
