Hi,

Thank you for your query.

It appears your son has a viral infection which can explain the rash, diarrhoea and bouts of cough. I would suggest that you consult a doctor who shall do a clinical assessment of your son for:
1. Any evidence of dehydration.
2. Any chest infection as you mention he gasps for breath following a bout of cough.
3. Type of rash.
If required the examination shall be followed by investigations.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.

Pediatrician Dr. E Venkata Ramana's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

It seems the child is having a viral illness with diarrhea and respiratory tract infection.

Gasping for breathing, irritability in infant is a concerning symptom and I advise you to consult the emergency or pediatrician as early as possible.

Chest X ray is required to look for any signs of pneumonia.

The red pin prick rash may be part of this viral illness.

Give sips of oral rehydration solution such as Pedialyte to maintain hydration and consult the doctor immediately.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
