Infant Circumcised Through Plastibell, Found A Lump Of Skin Under The Head Of Penis. Is It Normal?

My son was circumcised at day 10 and now he is a month old. The procedure was performed via plastibell. The ring fell off after 3 days and he healed well, and completed the antibiotic course too. Now the head of penis is well but there is a lump of skin at the right side under the head of the penis. Is it normal and will get fine over passage of time? Or is it serious..??

Pediatrician, Surgery 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for your query
The lump may be a wide variety of things. But firstly it is difficult to comment with out having a look at it. And secondly most of the causes are not serious. Since your child is circumscribed, it is unlikely to be a collection of smegma (which is the commonest cause of such small lumps on the penis. It can be a small cyst. These are mostly harmless in nature and can be excised by a simple surgical procedure. But a visit to your pediatric surgeon is recommended.
God bless you
