Infant Having Cold, Wheezing, Coughing. What To Do?

my seven month old granddaughter has had a cold for 6 days now. coughing wheezing and stuffy and runny nose. she almost sounded like she had croup. Took her to ER they gave her steroids and Dimetap now pediatrician is saying no dimetap or steroids. what do you do?

Greetings of the day

If there is only coughing and wheezing without associated hurried breathings its likely to be uncomplicated upper respiratory tract infection.

Steroids are usually not advisable in infants unless used for specific indiations.

I would suggest you the following

1. Alternate Normal saline and Salbutamol Nebulization will be helpful
2. Keep the baby warm
3. Avoid dust- Thoroughly wash beed sheets in hot water
