Infant With Goopy Eyeballs After Using Sulfameth-trimeth For Ear Infection. Treatment Required?

Our 10 month old has been on sulfameth-trimeth for 5 days now to treat an ear infection ... the past two days, she s woken up with goopy eyeballs. Is this a symptom of the ear infection healing? Her eyes are not pink in color and they do not get goopy throughout the day. We have some Moxeza on hand , should we give her some drops, or will this condition go away on its own eventually? Thanks!!

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Goopy eye balls after waking up requires physical examination.

It may be due to allergy because of drug or other reason.

Is there any variation in the size from morning to evening?

How is the urine output of the child?

Don't give any medication without prescription for that condition.

Consult the doctor for examination and further treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
