Injured The Ankle. Used RICE Method. Felt A Ping On The Foot. Physio Not Helping. Feel Hollow In Ankle Joint. Suggestions?
Hi I injured my ankle a couple of years ago playing rugby and never went to the doctors. I just used the RICE method. When the injury happened I remember feeling a ping like feeling go in the top of my foot. I have been having Physio but it is not getting any better. I am now concerned because my right foot in appearance does not match my left foot. It looks like it is almost becoming hollow in that area which is just by my ankle joint on the top of my foot. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Many thanks
Your description of hollowness in the foot appearance could be to muscle wasting in the involved area. This could again be the result of a nerve injury at the time of initial accident for which you have never attended a doctor.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedic surgeon and a neurophysician for a detailed evaluation and further management.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
