Intermittent Scalp Itching, Cure For Rarely Appearing Sores And Inflammation Points

I have had an intermittent scalp itching and occasionally develop inflammation points and sores. I was prescribed a clear liquid topical solution that I would just apply to the area and in two days it would disappear. I ve been using it over 30 years. In recent travel, I left the medicine in a hotel and don t have a record of what it was. It almost sounded like an anti-funal beginning in fluc????. Would you have any idea what it might be or suggest something else that may help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi there. Thank you for posting your question with Healthcaremagic. I will do my best to help you.

I suspect that your intermittent scalp irritation is being caused by one of those chronic scalp conditions like seborrheic dermatitis or eczema.

And because it responded so quickly to a topical application I suspect that this contained a mild steroid. This is a safe and effective treatment. Betacort Scalp Lotion is such a preparation but there are several others just as good. Take care.

I hope that I have answered your questions fully and been of some help. If you have anymore questions please contact me again anytime.
