Hi, I am currently in China. i went to the hospital for intestinal pains, diarrhea , and basically exhaustion. they did ultra sound , CT scan and stool sample. They say that i have contracted Intestinal TB. I am very worried hearing TB of course. They have me doing an IV twice a day for three days which again concerns me as everything else i am reading says that i need treatment for at least six months; I know that IV treatment is more effective but I don t understand why there would only be three days .
Hi and thanks for the treatment,
sure intestinal TB is a from of extra pulmonary TB, which usually requires treatment for between 6 to 9 months. The success of this treatment is greatly dependent on the compliance of the patient. Standard anti TB drugs and therapies do exist, that you shall need to take during this period.
I assure you that if you take your drugs normally and correctly and follow your health provider recommendations, the outcomes are generally satisfactory.
Hope this helps and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
