Irregular Period, Back Pain, Knee Pain, Fatigue. Practicing Yoga. What Can Be Done?

Hello doctor. I'm 25 year old and unmarried. I work in rotational shifts for the past one year. Prior to this I have worked in night shifts fir 2 years. I have been suffering from irregular periods from past 5-6 years now. I had also started a yoga routine some 3 months back, but I still notice a delay of 5-15 days sometime in my periods. They usually last just for 3 days. The worst part is waiting for periods to come, as the body changes of breast swollen and heavy like stone, terrible pain in back , legs and knees & constant feeling of fatigue. Can u please guide?

hello dear, i first of ell want you to understand that the normal menstrual cycle can last between 21 to 35 days and not neccesarilly of constant duration, which seem to be in your case. all the symptoms you feel prior to your menses is what we call the premenstrual syndrome. just keep cool okay, things may eventually be better. thanks

1. it seems you are suffering from PMT (PREMENSTRUAL TENSION)
2. low salt diet, avoid chilies and oily food, curd, pickles,heavy-sour-constipating food.
3. start doing pelvic and abdominal exercises like: pelvic floor tensing, pelvic lift, sideways leg raising, knee squeezes, bent knee leg raising, scissors kicks and bent knee sit ups after consulting with your Yoga teacher
4. Medicine like Raj pravartini vati, Tapyadi lauha, Tankan, Nashtpushtantak rs, and kaumarya asav are evidence based medicine for your problem, consult with an Ayurveda Doctor there.
