Is 600 Mg Of Gabapentin A Safe Dosage?

I am 53 years old and started taking the medicine gabapentin about a month ago. my doctor increased the dosage from 300mg 3 times a day to 600 mg 3 times a day, last evening i developed what looks like hives on my right arm. i currently see an allergist for allergies and hives and take xolair injections which seems to be helping. i also have other allergies which i have an epi pen and othermeds. today i have small bumps breaking out under my skin

Yes 600mg three times a day totalling 1800mg/day is the maintenance dose in many cases. In some cases upto 3600mg/day can be given if the patient tolerates without any side effects.
