Is 6mm Nodule The Right Upper Lobe Of Lungs A Cause For Concern?

I HAVE HAD NON HODGKINS AND HODGKINS IN THE PAST i AM IN REMISSION AS OF NOW AND IN November of last year I had trouble breathing and they found some clots in both my lungs. I have been on coumadin and things are lokking good. Also had a cat scan and I noted it had said there are no blood clots but a new 6mm nodulein the right upper lobe and should have a repeat cat scan in 3 months. Should I be real nervous or just follow what threy want me to do. My typing is so bad right now please excuse me. Thankyou for listening. Hi,

Though you are in the remission phase of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, still possibility of its spread to lungs can not be ruled out completely. Moreover, both Hodgkin as well as non-Hodgkin lymphomas have their spread to lungs very common.

Normally a lung nodule below 6mm has no/very little chances of being malignant. However, any lung nodule between 6-10 mm is to be observed for any increase in size and if the size is >10mm, then it should be biopsied to confirm/rule out any malignancy. As the size of nodule in your case is 6 mm, therefore, your doctor perhaps want to observe it for any increase in size, if present and that is why, you have been advised a follow up scan after 3 months.
