Hi,
Noted your history well and understood the concerns.
ABR tests is Auditory Brain Stem Response and done for deaf and dumb children hence nothing to do with
blocked nostril.
Yes, MRI is costly and not needed in every patient if not affordable.
Your problem of right sided nose block and reduced hearing in right ear can be due to the following reasons:
Deviated
nasal septum, particularly in posterior part can cause cause
Eustachian Tube dysfunction caused ear drum to get sucked in and cause Air conduction deafness as seen on
Audiometry report, which you have not mentioned in details.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult an ENT Surgeon.
Insist for nasal and ear
Endoscopy.
X-ray of nose and sinuses can guide to find the cause and further CT or MRI only if the X-ray and Endoscopy is suggestive of.
Deviated nasal Septum needs corrective surgery in indicates patient and you may need one if there is blockage of Eustachian tube related to it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
