Now from past six months iwas feeling discomfort for blocked one side of nostril so I started using xylomatazoline spray for relief, now if stop use of the spray in morning I wake up with one side of blocked nostril so I m afraid of rhinitis medicamentosa Wat is the correct treatment for RM ?provide me with the best solution to get rid of the condition
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Blocked nostril on one side despite using medication could be due to hypertrophy of turbinates inside the nasal cavity. You may need to get operated to reduce it by means of surgical correction. In case it is due to mucosal enlargement, it can be managed conservatively by means of using suitable steroid sprays. Kindly consult ENT Specialist for clinical evaluation to know what is the reason for causing obstruction, so that appropriate measures can be adopted to overcome the problem. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
