Is Azithral Advisable For An Infant With Congested Chest And Cough?
My 7 month old baby had fever and we gave fevago every 6 hours and in a day fever gone. But the next onwards she had several cough and the doctor gave Alexa junior and ventorlin respectively for three days and asked us to proceed with azithral 100 for 5 days if the cough persist after 3 days. Now she s coughing twice may be in every one hour and I could feel phelm in the chest/windpipe. Should I start giving azitral
Understanding your concern. As per your query your infant have symptoms of congested chest and cough which is due to upper respiratory tract infection which is leading to sinusitis as well. It seems to be due to persistence of infection and compromised immunity and increased susceptibility of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid intake of cold liquids. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin and antihistamine Levocetirizine for 3-4 days. Visit pediatrician once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get blood tests and X-ray chest done and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Give child steam inhalation and apply mist humidifiers in room.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
