Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I seem to have a URI. The pharmacist here in Mexico prescribed Azogen 500 mg every 8 hours. I am a healthy 70 year old woman with no known medical problems. I am confused as to the dosage per day and the length of treatment required as it seems to be in conflict with what another doctor on this site posted. Does this medicine contain an antibiotic. Thank you in advance.
Hello, AZOGEN is an antibiotic( NALIDIXIC ACID ) and is used for treatment of urinary tract infection. The dose is two tablets of AZOGEN 500 mg 4 times a day. This means 4 grams in a day. The medicine is given for 1-2 weeks. Take plenty of water also so as to flush out the infection by excess urination. Thanks
