Hi Dear ,

Welcome to Health Care Magic Team.

Understanding your concern.

Painful lump on upper jaw as per your query could be due to bony out growth in jaw which is known as exocytosis. It could be due to enlarged glands or epstein pearls which occur in upper jaw.

Dentist recommended to go for CT scan to rule out any malignant out growth and to find out exact diagnosis for your condition.

Need not to worry much. This out growth of bony exostosis can be easily removed by cauterization , laser treatment. If jaw pain accompained by other symptoms then it could be matter of serious concern , tissue biopsy is mandatory in that case and physician will start treatment accordingly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
