Is Clarithromycin Correct Treatment To Cure An Abscess?

I have an abcess on my foot and had to attend a walk in clinic over the weekend. I told the doctor I had had one before and the hospital put me on Clindamycin which cleared the infection. However this doctor as put me on Clarithromycin does this sound ok to you.
