Is Coriminic Drug For Ear Pain Safe During Prolonged Usage?
Hi, my 3yrs son has ear problem and has been diagnosed as having fluid back of the eardrum... due to congestion in the pipe connecting from ear to nose... has been prescribed with Coriminic syrup, initially with one dose 5ml (night) for 5 days and after followup recommended for morning also for another 7 days... Now, my question is: is it good to take this for longer periods? any other alternative ways to clear the tube?
This syrup is used in common cold and cough. It works as decongestant so relieve eustachian tube congestion (pipe connecting ear to throat). Usually, there is no side-effect, if occurs such as sleepiness, nausea they are minor and self limiting. In other methods, steam inhalation is good method for (tricky and difficult for 3 year old), use of mucolytic syrups are an altenative.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
