what is the right dosage of duphaston? My doc prescribed me to take 3 caps a day. i am now in my 8 weeks of pregnancy with urinary tract infection. Can i reduced my dosage to 1 or 2 caps aday? i am jst afraid to take medicines during pregnancy since this is my first baby.
Yes, it is advisable during pregnancy. Duphastan is progesterone (female hormone) is commonly prescribed to support and maintain a normal pregnancy. It is also useful in preventing miscarriages. Continue taking it as prescribed in the dose of 10 mg three times daily up to the 20th week of pregnancy along with the treatment for urinary tract infection. There is nothing to worry as it is found to be completely safe for the fetus as well as mother.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

You are suffering from urinary tract infection and such infection in early pregnancy is usually not safe. Duphaston helps holding in pregnancy so it is given in higher doses to keep the pregnancy going. I would recommend you to continue taking 2 capsules per day and after a week get your urine analysis done to check for infection response to antibiotics if its improving then you can reduce the dose of duphaston.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
