Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Duphaston contains 'dydrogesterone', which is a synthetic
progesterone and is used to treat a variety of conditions resulting from a lack of endogenous (naturally produced) progesterone.
It is administered to treat several conditions like:
(a) secondary amenorrhoea wherein the menstrual periods that have stopped, are absent or irregular
(b) dysmenorrhoea or painful periods
(c)
premenstrual syndrome (d) abnormal
uterine bleeding, which occurs during the menstrual cycle instead of at the end
(e)
endometriosis (f) infertility
(g) spontaneous abortion
(h) to counteract the stimulating effect of oestrogen in women on
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
Apart from regulating your menstrual cycles, since you are suffering from PCOD, you may also need medications like Clomiphine and/or Metformin to induce proper ovulation.
Hence, kindly consult Gynaecologist in this regard and take medications accordingly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
