Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Ivo Ditah's Response
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
Glycomet is a drug used to treat diabetes. I have never heard of it being used to treat weight loss. Though it suppresses appetite, ,no one should prescribe this drug as first line therapy for weight loss. I will recommend regular exercise, decreased calories intake as primary measures and only consider drugs should these measures fail and that sometime later.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be.
