Is Glycomet Tablet The Right Medicine To Get Rid Of Acne And Facial Hair?
HI Doctor, I am 29 year Old female my TSH is 5.8 rest all other parameters for Thyroid is under control. do I need to take Thyroid medicine?? My doctor has prescribed Glycomet SR 500 to take twice daily after breakfast & due to clinical symptoms persist like acne, weight gain facial hairs etc.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Correction of thyroid disorder can be achieved by means of taking medications. However, once the values are under control, you cannot stop 5he medicines completely, but needs to take it lifelong with adjustment of appropriate dose. Glucomet medication which has been given would help to control your blood glucose. This medication is administered to you not because that you are diabetic, but you might be having the symptoms due to polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD). In this disorder, there will be some amount of insulin resistance and androgenic effect, which can be countered by means of Glycomet. Kindly take the medications and advised and do the necessary follow-up. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
