Is HIV ELISA Test Conducted One Year Post Exposure Conclusive?
I had sex with a girl 7 years back in a company party at resort.( This was first and last). during which condom broke and I pulled off..after one year I had hiv elisa..it showed negative..den after 6 year s I had pcr hiv 1 and hiv 1 and 2 fourth generation elisa..both showed negative...but in this 3 years I had around 6 kg of weight loss and fever comes frequently. Should I do any advanced hiv checking? Please help me out..
You should have done the 4th generation HIV test earlier post risky exposure. You have not written whether you have been taking PEP or PrEP. People taking PEP may have false negative results.
A negative result may be good news but it cannot be conclusive. Get a complete medical check up done. Get treated for weight loss at the earliest.
Yes, you should do repeat(follow up) 4th generation tests as it detects HIV antibodies & p24 antigens. p24 antigens appear before HIV antibodies. Stay connected with your treating doctor. Avoid stress.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,

Since you are having weight loss it could be CMV, HIV & also other medical conditions like depression, hyperthyroidism, bowel disease, gastroenteritis, etc.
