Is HSV-2 Contagious And Can This Spread Through Unwashed Hands?

hello. I recently was told I had HSV-2 and yesterday I wash my hand only with water since there was no soap in that public restroom and without thinking about it 3 mins later I wipe my son"s mouth with my hand and im concern about that... And hope I didn't spread anything to him by not washing my hands with soap im very concern for my son.

I am so sorry to hear about this troubling thoughts. HSV-2 is contagious. Washing your hands with water is good enough though soap offers more guarantee. It is not that easy to transmit the germs through trivia means like that else every one else would have had it. You both would be fine. Always make sure you wash your hands thoroughly for at least 1min.It helps lots in fighting against infections that are transmitted through poor hygienic practices.

Also, if you do not have an active wound now, there is no reason to be worried
