Understanding your concern. As per your query your baby is suffering from cold and fever which seems to be due to co-infection by bacteria and virus. Usually virus infection usually go away in few days i.e 3-5 days by its own, however sometimes infection become chronic and it need medical attention.
- Take steam twice a day to relieve the congestion.
- Do tepid sponging on your child's head to lower down body temperature.
- Avoid cold water and beverages and drink warm water with one spoon honey in it.
I would suggest you to consult pediatrician without any delay . Doctor may order throat swab test, X-ray chest and blood test to confirm the diagnosis.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
