Is Ibuprofen Sufficient To Heal The Knot Behind Ear After Having A Double Cartilage Piercing?
Hello,
I noticed today that I had a small, hard, "knot" like feeling behind my ear kind of on the "ear bone" on my neck on the left side and it has me worried about what it is. I touched the right side and felt nothing. It doesn't hurt at all when I touch it, it's just there. I've tried looking online but can't find much information for what I'm talking about.
The only thing I can think of for the cause is that I had a double cartilage piercing a week ago with a piercing gun.
I'm assuming it's infected, my ear was throbbing and is/was a bit red and felt hot to the touch last night so I took some Ibuprofen and 5 minutes later my ear was just fine. Today it didn't bother me at all. Just a little tender when I clean it.
I have no other symptoms, and I feel completely fine.
I never have any medical issues going on, so when it comes to something like this, I become quite the worry-wart.
What could this be? Should I be worried?

Since this knot is due to ear piercing and you feel better after taking ibuprofen this indicates that this is really an inflammatory pathology.
To treat it you may take-
1- Hot fomentation.
2- Analgesic anti inflammatory.
3- If swelling and pain increases with fever than antibiotic should be added.
