Is LA 120 Contraindicated With Alcohol?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have been on Inderal for almost 20 years. Normally take it in the morning. I'm on LA 120 right now. I also have a drink in the evening. But lately for some reason I keep forgetting to take it and take it at night. I just took it like 20 minutes ago. Can I still have my drink tonight? I take it for fast heartbeat and anxiety. I just get nervous mixing the two.

Hi,

Propranolol and ethanol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.

These side effects are most likely to be seen at the beginning of treatment, following a dose increase, or when treatment is restarted after an interruption.

So better to don't take with alcohol, taking different time is no problem. Better to avoid alcohol as early as possible, other alcohol itself may induce cardiac arrhythmia or holiday heart syndrome.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
