I just discovered that I have hypothyrodism. My regular doctor prescribed Levothyroxin, which I have not yet started on, however I read that I should be using t3 and t4 together. The thyroid test indicated that my thyroid, is just a bit slow in producing the hormone. Can I just change my diet? I don t want to go through such an extreme, as taking this medication, unless I have to. Last year s annual wellness test, did not indicate that I had a thyroid problem, until this year. I retired last year and I haven t exercise, as much as I did before. I eat well though, but I have gained 40 pounds throughout the years, but I am 60 years old. Should I see an endocrinologist first?
