Is Lisix Pills, Advisable For Urine Issues In Schizophrenia Patients?
my uncle is suffering from schizophrenia , a mental disorder for the past 30 years . he recently lost both his parents . he is now around 50 & is as thin as my little finger . he drinks a lot of tea . about 10 to 12 glasses a day & an equal amount of water . he is so weak that sometimes it results in bed wetting also . but suddenly his body has swollen totally & his feets are double the size of his body. being a mental patient , it's difficult to take him to the doctor but we somehow managed a doctor. he said that my uncle is not passing urine properly & also suggested a medicine LISIX, but we need to take the second opinion . pls suggest us .
You are perhaps referring to LASIX (not LISIX). You may give Lasix (Furosemide) to your uncle. It is a diuretic. It will help in kidneys removing fluids and electrolytes and thus reducing fluid overload in body. Also try to give him balanced diet including enough proteins (eggs/milk/soya/pulses/meat etc). If he is able to walk around without getting too breathless, get him to walk a few times a day. I hope this answer is helpful.
