Is Lonopin Intake During Pregnancy Safe?

HI Team, My Wife is now 7 month, on regular visit and tests doctor prescribe to take Lonopin 40mg daily. when we asked for reason, she told that to have free flow of blood to baby and results in growth of baby. Baby was 720gms. Is there any issue/problem it taking.

Hi, I think lonopin is safe in pregnancy but there should be some valid indication. It is generally given if a woman had 3 or more miscarriages or having any autoimmune disease. Also it should be started before 14 to 16 weeks to exert its effects. After that it's efficiency is not well proven. It is started as soon as the heart beat appears in the baby and continued till 37 weeks. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
