Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
am using entresto at the highest dose and am concerned about the high price....what would be any down sides to going back to losartan and clopdigeral which I have been on for years....I have low ejection factor and have had open heart surgery 9 years ago and have done fine on the generic drugs....thanks....e mail YYYY@YYYY
Yes, Losartan can be used in patients with heart failure and low ejection fraction. However, you are already using a potent drug like Entresto, so if cannot afford to pay for it, then at least just take Valsartan only. I think you should not get back to Losartan, just use Valsartan. It is cheaper than Entresto but at least contains one of its ingredients (which is Valsartan).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
All the best.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
