Is Meniscus Injury Of Knee Possible Without Sustaining ACL Tear?
i am 29 years old i injured my knee while playing basketball got hit on the inside of left knee and hearing a loud pop even ones near me heard it. went to a ortho who had mri done he told me i tore my lateral meniscus but doesnt think the acl but i can pop my knee out on my own. what is the odds of injuring meniscus but not acl
It is possible to tore your meniscus without damaging your ligaments including your ACL. However. A torn meniscus does not make your knee "Pop out". This strongly suggests a torn ligament. Which ligament, is hard to tell without proper physical examination, or MRI.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
