Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Mirtazapine Effective In The Treatment Of Depression?
Hello I am taking the antidepressant called MIRTAZAPINE 1/2 of 15MG every evening. It helps me to sleep much better but always get bad or sad dream. Why does this medicine affect my thought of being sad or paranoid? Will it get away if I continue taking it for many weeks? I ve taken it resuming last week.
I would encourage you to continue to use it. Generally antidepressants may cause some side effects the first 1-2 weeks after starting them or dose changes and it tends to fade with time. So give another 2-3 weeks to the medication and see if the problem with sad dreams fades or not. If no improvement or any worsening you will need to talk it with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
