Is Nasonex Advisable For Cold And Stuffy Nose?

I had a cold (runny nose, tired, congestion) going on about 10-12 days now. I feel better (appetite back, a little more energy) but I still have a stuffy nose. I was prescribed Nasonex (I did not have the usual sinus pain) and I m on day 7 of nasonex and improvement is slow to come. Should I go see the doctor again or stick with nasonex. I was told to take it for 14 days. My congestion normally goes away, but this time it is lingering.

Hi.
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

Once you start using Nasonex nasal spray (mometasone), your current symptoms will start improving with 2-3days of usage.

But a complete relief can be achieved within 10 to 14 days. So I suggest you to continue it for 14days as advised by your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
