Is Neo Penotran Safe To Use For UTI During First Trimester Of Pregnancy?
Hi.. I m mheg,I am 4 weeks pregnant and it s my first pregnancy. It was found out that I have urinary tract infection,my OB gave me Neo PENOTRAN Once a day for 7 days, while searching the MIMS i learned that it was contraindicated during first trimester, I have taken the meds for 2days and I m hesitant if I should continue taking the medication or should I stop?

Stop taking Neo-Penotran as that is still in phase 2 of clinical studies, and I don't feel it's a safe option.
It needs to take a prescription from your physician and you may take Nitrofurantoin ( Macrobid) 100mg by mouth twice daily for 3 days. Most importantly, take Cranberry Extract 4times a day for 5days. It is the best treatment for pregnant women.
