Is Nexito Recommended For Depression After Childbirth?
My friend is suffering depression post delivery, doctor suggested zorset 50 but she complained gastric troubles. Now doctor suggested nexito 10. I want to know what are the side effects of the two and which one is better with respect to side effects as we have a 3 month old baby nursing from mother? In Short, which one of Zoreset50 or nexito10 has less side effects?
She is breastfeeding her baby and has suffered depression post childbirth. She has been given Sertraline and which was stopped because of gastric side effects. Now she has been advised to take Escitalopram 10. If we consider pharmacological profile of both drugs then both drugs belongs to same class of anti-depressants. Both are relatively safe to use in breastfeeding though detailed studies are not available. In terms of side effects Sertraline 50 will be better tolerated as compared to Escitalopram 10. Sertraline can be used in cardiac patients also so the drug is more safe as compared to escitalopram. Take advise from her psychiatrist before changing any medicines.
Thanks, hope this helps you.
