Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I just got by blood tested and TSH came back at 105.2 *repeated* Diabetic, Heart patient, and urinary bladder removed because of cancer. Currently going through PD1 treatment. Should I get TSH rechecked with another hospital? And why is it so elevated? Thank you
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) level of 105.2 is a matter of concern. Normal range for TSH is 2-5. So 105.2 value is considered as very high. This is seen in the hypothyroidism. This suggest that your body is not producing thyroid hormones adequately. So you should take levothyroxin tablet once a day in the morning on empty stomach. Get done repeat TSH after 1 month for titration of levothyroxin dose. No need to recheck it. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
