Is TSH Value Of 2.91 A Cause For Concern?

I have all the symptoms of hypothyroid (dry skin, breaking hair/hair loss, severe fatigue, weight gain, toe cramps, muscle twitches) and my TSH is 2.91. Is this too high? Could I be hypothyroid? I ve also been diagnosed with a small nodule that hasn t changed size in the last 4 months.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
The TSH values mentioned by you is within normal limits.
However the hypothyroid status can be determined with FT3, FT4, and TSH levels, you have not mentioned these values.
The physical symptoms alone cannot be used to label a person as hypothyroid.
I would advise
To test the other levels.
Consult your endocrinologist, if the lab reports are abnormal, the medication would produce excellent remission of symptoms.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
I find this answer helpful
