I have an underactive thyroid and my TSH was 6.58 so my doctor put me on the 50 MCG s of Synthroid it s my first day on the Synthroid and I want to know if it s normal for your heart to beat a little bit faster and to still feel tired. How long will it take to feel energetic and normal again.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The medication would not take an effect immediately so it would it is not the synthyroid having an effect.
It can actually take a few weeks for it to take an effect.

Your energy levels should increase in a few weeks.

I hope this helps
