I'm not sure if my son has herpes gladiatorum. He gets this one little spot on the left side of his face every once in awhile. We never treat it with anything and it goes away. Do you have to take Valtrex for herpes gladiatoum to go away or can it go away by itself?

Hello, Thank you for contacting HCM I understand your concern, I am Dr Arun Tank, Infectious Disease Specialist answering your query.
First of all you have to examined your child with the dermatologist whether it is herpes or not.
Valtrex has some side effects so taking it with its own is not a safe thing. it should be taken under doctors guidance.
I suspect it may not be herpes. Because herpes has severe burning pain. This things are absent in your complaint so I suspect that it is not a herpes.
I advice you to take good care of hygiene as it alone cares fifty percent of the share in treatment as drugs do.
Please wear the cotton clothes as it also helps relieving the infection.
