Is Zolendronic Acid Injection Advisable For A Person With Progressive Scleroderma?
My mother is 52 and she is a progressive scleroderma patient for last 8years. Off late her bones have gone weak and we have had a kyphoplasty done for D12, she has slight wedging in L3 as well. post that we have been asked to give her zolendronic acid inj annually. She suffers from regular cough. Is it safe to use vecosteo for her.
Yes, it may be given to prevent fracture of spine. Injection vacosteo is primarily used to treat or prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women to reduce the risk of fracture of the spine. However the stomach acidity issues pertaining to scleroderma can be managed by giving antacids during course of treatment with vacosteo.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
