Is A Cyst In Left Ovary With Mild Free Fluid In Pelvis A Cause For Concern?

i have a left ovarian simple cyst,its size is(3.8*3.7cm),and mild free fluid is noted in pelvis,is there any complecation with that,is it under control,how could i get rid of it,sould i go for a surgery? or it can be treated simply with any medicine???

Hi! a cyst, either simple or complex, cannot be treated with any medicine as these are structured growth! Anyways, in your case, there is nothing to worry as this won't be cancer/kind of bad tumor and sometimes it might disappear itself due to pressure rupture or ovulation etc...but if necessary, it might need an open or laparoscopic surgical removal.

Free fluid in the pelvis or pouch of Douglas could be normal, infective or tumorous; but it all depends on the clinical situation.

therefore, not to worry but definitely visit your gynecologist to see updates of the cyst and to discuss possible line of management.
